District two has approximately 22,400 people living within it. About 71.4% of those residents were born in
Paris and 17.4% are non-European immigrants.
This district is more of a banking and business district with lot of
attractions around it because it is in the center of Paris but not too much to
see within it.
If you’re looking for a hotel in this district I would recommend
this two star beauty; the Hotel Vivienne.
It has very good customer ratings and is €88 for a double room per
night. You can find it on 40, Rue Vivienne. If you are staying in the two star beauty
that I recommended and you would like to pick up some groceries instead of
eating out I would suggest heading to your local Monoprix.
Eggs: € 2,78
Milk: € 1,42
Meat: € 18,25
Tourist Attractions:
If you are in the
mood for live theatre and happen to speak French or don’t mind if you can’t
understand what the actors are saying, you might want to stop by l’opera
Comique and let these guys tickle your funny bone. Located at 1 Place
Boieldieu, whether or not this interests you, you might want to pop over
there just to check out the architecture nearby.
The Palais Brongniart is found on 28, Place de la Bourse. For over a century this
building was used to house French finance but has recently been turned into
convention center. It's location in the heart of Paris is pristine for
large events. It has 2 auditoriums that
can hold 100 and 600 people. It has 6
lounges and reception halls and if you happen to be throwing a large convention
or attending one in Paris, this would be the place to go. It also happens to be a beautiful place for a
flea market which you can find on the patio behind it.
Velib is a
bike service that you can find all over Paris.
You buy a membership for €20 and then you can ride bikes for 30 minutes
for free. After your 30 minutes you
start getting charged but since you can find them everywhere I would suggest
that you bike for the free half hour, return your bike to the nearest post to
you and take out a new one. Also, if
your bike has a problem like a flat or anything that needs repair, you turn the
seat around backwards to let everyone know.
The Most Interesting Thing I Found:
In between the businesses and banks there happens to be a
skate park in an ally fully furnished with ramps and all. If skateboarding is your cup of tea or you
just want to go watch some French dudes throw some tricks then you should
definitely check it out.
Thanks for touring Arrondissement 2 via me! Au revoir!
